![]() ![]() At times it feels like a kind of playable coffee-table magazine, doused in wonderful, full-screen splashes of colour on victory and death - colours, like a tangy, mustardy yolk and rich, blood-orange red, that you know a designer has tinkered with for hours to get just so - animated in immaculate, Moebius-style comic book art, Hassan clothed in an Eddie-the-Eagle one piece and a retro moped helmet with twin stripes. ![]() The style is, ultimately, everything in Rollerdrome. It's simple, albeit not subtle: in a near-future, Britain-like place, corruption seeps in alongside privatisation, a brief, enjoyably gallows-humoured allegory that ties in nicely with your objective of winning this grim tournament but, more importantly, adds the spiky bite of antifacsism to a game that's already bristling with style. poking and pulling at the threads of an overarching story. You'll have a little moment here and there to wander around a small area - a changing room, a radio station, etc. Between stages Rollerdrome morphs into a miniature narrative game. Your job, as debutant Kara Hassan, the rookie outsider in a niche bloodsport that's taking off in the worryingly not-distant 2030, is to sweep through the tournament and put a villainous rival in their place. Mark me down as a square, though, because I am pretty terrible at Rollerdrome, despite its efforts to convince me otherwise. Coolness is something that evaporates as soon as you say it out loud, so of course it's never mentioned, but the end-of-round score could be for nothing else. This is a game where, locked into a series of retrofuture colosseums, you chain elaborate roller skate tricks while dodging rockets, ducking batons and pounding shotgun pellets into riot shields in ultra-slow motion. Skating games have always had scores, and have always had that essential breezy nonchalance at their heart, but Rollerdrome feels like the first to really make the coolness so explicit. Is it possible to quantify cool? Rollerdrome, the latest from the skatemasters of Roll7, certainly thinks so. Dimensional Portals will lead you to planes of rich resources that will help you become stronger.Roll7 blends genres with total mastery in Rollerdrome, one of the most breathlessly stylish and casually, outrageously cool games you'll ever play.

John Cale however, didn’t agree with how Lou Reed’s master-plan. They had to release music that was much more pop oriented, and therefore, commercial. This was meant to the start of a bright new future for The Velvet Underground.Īfter two albums which had failed commercially, Lou Reed decided that The Velvet Underground had to change tack. ![]() It featured the debut of Doug Yule, who was brought in to replace John Cale. They had released their third album The Velvet Underground in March 1969. It was the start of a bright new dawn.įor The Velvet Underground, 1969 had been a turbulent year. Live at Max’s Kansas City also fulfilled The Velvet Underground’s contractual obligations to Atlantic Records, and marked the end of an era. It became The Velvet Underground’s first live album, which was reissued by Rhino on 22nd January 2016. This became Live at Max’s Kansas City, which was released on May 30th 1972. They looked through the Atlantic Records’ archives, and decided to release an album of live material. To make matters worse, The Velvet Underground still owed Atlantic Records an album. For the members of The Velvet Underground this was a crushing blow. They also realised that the new songs weren’t good enough, so rejected them out of hand. They were like a rudderless ship heading perilously close to the rocks.Įxecutives at Atlantic Records realised this. However, The Velvet Underground without Lou Reed was a totally different band to the one Atlantic Records had signed in 1969. These songs, they hoped, would feature on their fifth album. When The Velvet Underground returned home, they headed to Atlantic Records’ headquarters, where they showcased their new songs. During the tour, the members of The Velvet Underground wrote some new songs for the album they owed Atlantic Records. This new lineup of The Velvet Underground spent part of 1971 touring North America. To play bass, Walter Power was drafted in. So bassist Doug Yule switched to bass and took charge of lead vocals. They were due to tour North America, promoting Loaded. This presented a problem for The Velvet Underground. By then, Lou Reed had left the group he had cofounded. They released their fourth studio album Loaded, on 15th November 1970. Instead, 1970 was The Velvet Underground’s annus horribilis. This should’ve been the dawn of a new era for The Velvet Underground, where they belatedly made a commercial breakthrough. They had just signed a two album deal with Atlantic Records in late 1969. The album consisted of contemporary artists performing cover versions of songs by the Velvet Underground. Fifteen Minutes: A Tribute to the Velvet Underground was an album released by Imaginary Records in the UK in 1994. It’s a swirly celebration of four different types of caramel in a cup, topped with a layer of dark caramel sauce, caramel drizzle and crunchy caramel sugar topping. ![]() “Caramel connoisseurs, this is your beverage. And speaking of sexual, just read the description of the Caramel Ribbon Crunch: The two flavors I speak of are Mocha Cookie Crumble (not photographed in this article) and Caramel Ribbon Crunch. But it is May, and that means frappucino happy hour between three and five pm, early enough that I’m not at work yet but late enough that I still get that pissy “are you going to be hungry for dinner” look from someone who constantly forgets that I have the appetite of a butcher’s disposal unit and about as discriminating of a diet.Īs with any year, Starbucks has crazy two crazy new flavors, and as with any year they are limited with just enough time that you will fall in love with them before they get yanked off the menu in what is probably a combination of reminding you who wears the daddy pants in this relationship, and also because they find the sighs of disappointment strangely gratifying in a sexual way. ![]() Happy Hour is just about the only time you can get me into a Starbucks, owing to the fact that I’m generally too cheap to spend an entire combo meal’s worth on a single drink when the gods of McDonald’s have graced this earth with something I like to call the value menu sweet tea. ![]() ![]() Apart from the kudos of having a six-cylinder powerplant sitting up front, there is an immediate feeling of added refinement, no matter how hard you are working the car.The naturally-aspirated V6 is noticeably smoother and more free revving than the old supercharged four, with a more urgent feel from a standing start, and the engine quickly gets into its stride. Still, with prices set to remain the same in the UK, I suspect prospective customers won’t be too troubled by the retention of the old name, despite the engine’s larger size.Sit behind the wheel of the reworked C230 and you quickly appreciate just how much of a difference the new engine makes to the overall driving experience. As good as they are, they’re expensive to produce and hold little attraction outside European markets.Confusingly, though, Mercedes has decided to retain the old C230 name with the introduction of its latest petrol engine – the practice of matching model designations to engine capacity is no longer the done thing in Stuttgart. ![]() It’s all part of a concerted effort to lessen Mercedes’ dependence on diesel engines. No surprise, then, to finally see it being set aside for Mercedes-Benz’s excellent new 2.5-litre V6 petrol engine. The four-valve-per-cylinder powerplant forms part of a new range of engines that are set to be added to the C-class range and other models in coming months the 3.0-litre and 3.5-litre units have already found their way into the E-class. But despite the carefully conceived changes there still remain some big weaknesses in the four-year-old C-class’s line-up, and one of the most obvious is the supercharged 1.8-litre engine used in the mid-range C230 Kompressor.A long time staple of the C-class range, the blown four-cylinder is endowed with considerable mid-range urge, but its coarse operation is very much at odds with the car’s otherwise cultivated character. the new mb are better than the old ones.Mercedes-Benz has done all the right things to the C-class recently, with chassis tweaks and engine upgrades turning the junior exec into a very attractive proposition. ![]() My other car is a c class 2009 and it has low miles but it is also been perfect. keeping this car until 200.000 and i will get anew model with low miles. same exhaust, had a check engine issue at 40.000 miles, car is amazing, the only thing that is not is the paint peeling on the center console, mb messed up on this one they applied pant over plastic and it is coming off, must clean the interior with warm water and soap and it pays to be gentle coming in contact with the interior. Secondary endpoints included functional impairment (Roland–Morris Disability Questionnaire, Hannover Functional Ability Questionnaire), quality of life (Short-Form Health Questionnaire ), pain perception (pain perception scale = Schmerzempfindungsskala ), depressivity (Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale ), and analgesic consumption (questionnaire/diary). The primary endpoint was a change in average back pain intensity, as measured using a 100-mm visual analog scale (VAS), after 28 days. Methods: Patients with chronic low back pain were randomized to receive either a single session of local treatment with 4–7 leeches or four weekly sessions of exercise therapy (1 hour each) led by a physical therapist. We therefore conducted the first randomized trial of leech therapy for chronic low back pain. Leeches are also often used empirically to treat chronic low back pain, but data from clinical trials have been lacking to date. Background: Leech therapy has been found to be effective in the treatment of a number of chronic musculoskeletal pain syndromes. Excluding the gold bordered World Championship deck copies which are not legal anywhere. If any cards can be distinguished from the other cards in the deck without viewing its front face, then those cards are marked and not legal for tournament play. Also, altered cards may be thicker than the other cards in the deck, depending on the method used to alter the card. Significantly creased cards can be distinguished from other cards in a deck, even sleeved. From the Magic Tournament Rules section 3.3 on Authorized Cards: Using opaque backed sleeves can get around this problem. Using older lands is fine by all these rules so far, but if the cards can be identified in your deck because of their age, they count as marked and would be illegal for tournament play. Wastes, the colorless basic land, are not currently standard legal since Oath of the Gatewatch rotated out in September 2017. The Snow-Covered versions are currently legal until Kaldheim rotates out in September 2022. This applies to the regular 5 basic lands. The five basic lands, Plains, Island, Swamp, Mountain, and Forest, have been printed in almost 2 every set, and this means that since there has always been a set in Standard containing a copy of these lands, all copies of these lands are legal to play in Standard. This is determined based on the English name for that card (regardless of the language it's printed in) from the Comprehensive Rules:Ģ01.2 A card’s name is always considered to be the English version of its name, regardless of printed language. For example, it is okay to use the Stronghold printing of Mana Leak in Modern even though Stronghold is not a legal set for use in Modern. The cards being played in the deck must be printed in a set that is legal in the format, even if the printing being used is from an otherwise illegal set. The second round will be scheduled on TBD.
